SOMETHING WRITTEN IN THE ARABIC LANGUAGE
Employing different design tropes, Something Written in the Arabic Language adopts the strategies of corporate branding through line of monochromatic T-shirts emblazoned with an Arabic logo. The Arabic writing on the shirts literally translates into “Something Written in the Arabic Language” – a distinctly apolitical message embedded within a culturally loaded script.
There is a choice between white, grey, dark grey, and black, with all four options bearing the same circular logo on the front. The T-shirts function as an artist’s multiple, emulating the exclusivity of a brand that champions a language connected with a culture that is often excluded.
