A List of Antagonisms: Kitchener, ON
A List of Antagonisms is an ongoing public text series that has appeared in multiple cities across Canada. The project lends itself to the wider discourse surrounding the anxieties, tensions and history shared across changing communities. The text reflects oppositional viewpoints and utopic outlooks for how we might begin to rethink the values we want to carry forward into our collective future.
In this iteration, Abdallah’s text appears at two sites in Kitchener, ON for the CAFKA Biennial. The work lists a sequence of text that are place in opposition to each other, questioning ideas of power and advocacy. The text was sourced from news headlines, social media and other local media outlets in Kitchener throughout the pandemic.
